Quantum holographic encoding in a two-dimensional electron gas.

The ability of the scanning tunnelling microscope to manipulate single atoms and molecules has allowed a single bit of information to be represented by a single atom or molecule. Although such information densities remain far beyond the reach of real-world devices, it has been assumed that the finite spacing between atoms in condensed-matter systems sets a rigid upper limit on information densi...

Local Field Correction Effect on Dicluster Stopping Power in a Strongly Coupled Two-Dimensional Electron Gas System

We calculate the stopping power for heavy-ion diclusters moving in a strongly coupled two-dimensional electron gas system by using the local field corrected dielectric function at finite temperature. We obtain a parameterized local field correction factor based on a relation between the thermal compressibility and exchange-correlation energy in two-dimension. The interpolated parameter is deriv...

Linear Magnetoresistance in a Quasifree Two-Dimensional Electron Gas in an Ultrahigh Mobility GaAs Quantum Well.

We report a high-field magnetotransport study of an ultrahigh mobility (μ[over ¯]≈25×10^{6}  cm^{2} V^{-1} s^{-1}) n-type GaAs quantum well. We observe a strikingly large linear magnetoresistance (LMR) up to 33 T with a magnitude of order 10^{5}% onto which quantum oscillations become superimposed in the quantum Hall regime at low temperature. LMR is very often invoked as evidence for exotic qu...
